Skaarup Architecture Moves Forward
March 10, 2006
Skaarup marine architecture has long been well developed. One of its successful examples is innovative hull design concept “SkarHar”. It features simplicity in design and effectiveness in cost. Originated by Skaarup in the States and endorsed by ABS, this design recently however found its home in the Chinese coastal market. Frank Parker, CEO of the Skaarup Group, and James Hara, a veteran marine architecture expert, respectively visited such major Chinese end-users as China Shipping. The Chinese market opens its arms for this design. Now the design is being materialized into creative reality upon approval by CCS. The Skaarup Group, headquartered in Greenwich, CT, has provided competitive bulk transportation services to industries worldwide for more than 50 years. Characterized by the legendary designs by Mr. Skaarup of the first modern bulk carrier and the ocean-going self-unloader, the strength of The Skaarup Group lies in its ability to create innovative and economic solutions to ever-changing transportation requirements.
